パリはセーヌ川を中心にして発展を遂げた。その川と幾多の逸話が多い橋が相まって都市を活性化させてきたと言えよう。　パリの街全体が一つの築造物であり、それ故に建物間がシステマティックであることを前提としてきた。セーヌに沿った建築物もその構成の一部であり、風格と偉容さが備わり更には温もりも感じさせ、調和のとれた美しい街並みを造っている。当作は、左岸側の川面近くまで降りられる遊歩道から、ポン・ヌフを観た景。 Paris evolved centering around the Seine. The river and its numerous storytelling bridges helped invigorate the city. The city itself is a perfect entity and therefore it is essential that the buildings be placed in an orderly manner. Those along the Seine represent an integral part of the city structure. They have dignity, grandeur and warmth and thus form a beautiful and harmonious cityscape.
