伊豆半島に位置する城ヶ崎海岸で、ゴツゴツとした岩場を描く。同地の案内板に「約4000年前に噴火したとき溶岩が海に流れ出し、波風による浸食作用で削られて出来た約9キロメートルにわたる海岸は、各種の様相を呈する自然が造成した景観」という主旨の説明が記されており、描く気を起こさせた。 |

| I painted rugged rock reefs on the east coast of Izu Peninsula to the south west of Tokyo. The guideboard reads: “About 4,000 years ago, volcanic explosions gushed out lava, which ran out into the sea and dried out. Over time, waves and winds ate it away to create the 9 km-long rugged coastline. This is nothing less than the creation of the nature.“ |
